The exhibition 'Cool Japan' immersed you in the worldwide fascination for Japanese visual culture with icons such as Hello Kitty, Zelda and Sailor Moon ..

We call it Riverside but you can call it L.O.

For the exhibition 'Le Corbusier. Linkeroever - Chandigarh’, the MAS closely collaborates with people and organisations in Linkeroever. Amongst others, we spoke with two residents’ associations in Europark, had coffee with the board of the Sint-Anna College and the secondary school, and visited River Side Studio.

The Salon

CLOSED| In super-diverse Antwerp, you will find hairstyles and hair traditions of all colours and shapes. The hair salons where it all happens are equally diverse. The photo exhibition 'The Salon' gave you a taste of the diversity of hair salons and cuts.  

Eyecatchers

CLOSED - In the exhibition 'Eyecatchers', 16 Antwerp residents gave their own take on our collection and chose their personal masterpiece. Because a masterpiece is something different for everyone.

Film Dance

On Saturday 6 April 2013 the artist and filmmaker Hans Op de Beeck made “Dance”, a contemporary film about migration for the Red Star Line Museum. It was a cold spring day but the commitment and the enthusiasm of the 770 extras was heart-warming.

Bring your class to the MAS

XIIth North Sea History Conference

The XIIth North Sea History Conference in 2017 seeks to involve maritime museum professionals and academic scholars, to generate knowledge and present new findings about the maritime culture of the North Sea region.
