Your class will discover the MAS with an experienced guide and interactively. Each floor of the MAS has its own guided tours and workshops. It's up to you to choose what best suits your students. In addition to guided tours for children and young people, we offer formulas for teaching adults, and the MAS can be an excellent complement to teacher training.
The educational formulas of the MAS
The different stories told by the MAS constitute a healthy intellectual visit for all ages and are also a solid basis for personalized activities. The covered stories often go beyond the curriculum, which is why the visit to the MAS is an unforgettable experience. Offers are interactive and can be adapted to each age group.
Non-guided tours
Teachers can act as a guide and provide a tour for their class at the MAS. School groups must, like other guided groups, book their entry one week in advance. In the event of large crowds, groups without reservations can be refused.
Entrance to the MAS is free of charge for school groups.

General information for schools
We recommend arriving at the MAS around a quarter of an hour before your tour/visit is due to start.
- The promenade is open from 9.30 am.
- The group ticket desk is open from 9.45 am.
- The museum galleries are open from 10 am.
Form your groups before you arrive, as this will save time.
Rucksacks, bags and cases larger than A3 size, as well as umbrellas, are not allowed in the museum galleries. These can be left in the cloakroom.
School groups can make use of a 'box' in which all luggage can be deposited and collected together. More information about this is available at the desk. The museum is not responsible for theft. Leaving luggage at school or on the bus will, of course, shorten the waiting time before your visit.
The museum uses wristbands as access control in the museum galleries. Every pupil and supervisor must be identifiable by an MAS wristband when entering the galleries.
School groups visit the museum under the supervision of teachers or group leaders. We expect 1 supervisor per 15 pupils. The supervisor is responsible for the group during the museum visit and will be addressed by the heritage attendants if the group does not comply with the visitor regulations. The visitor regulations are available at the MAS front desk.
Teachers are permitted to guide their own class around the museum. Groups without a guide must also book in advance. In the event of overcrowding, groups without a reservation may be turned away.
Anyone wishing to write or draw during the museum visit can borrow clipboards from the desk. It is not permitted to use exhibition materials or walls as a writing surface.
From the second floor upwards, pupils can eat their packed lunch in the promenade. Naturally, the necessary discretion and tidiness are expected.
For primary school classes taking a guided tour, we recommend preparing name stickers in advance. This makes things more pleasant for both the children and the guide.
