FREE ENTRANCE | Along the escalators in the MAS Boulevard, the photo exhibition by Adel Setta Mellunman showcases the diverse character of the contemporary Antwerp martial arts scene, offering a glimpse into the daily ins and outs of the fighting clubs.
The exhibition ‘100 x Congo’ features one hundred unique highlights from our Congolese collection. What stories are hidden behind the objects? How did they end up here? What did they mean to Congolese peoples? And what about the African presence in Antwerp?
This ‘helmet’ is indispensable in illustrating the history of distillation in the Low Countries. In various 16th and 17th-century engravings and paintings, you can see how vapours were cooled down and converted into liquids in a helmet like this. In Belgium, we do not know a second one like this.
26-02 to 30-08-2027 The exhibition explores what it means to live together and meet one another. What it means to be allowed to truly be yourself—in your own body, in your relationships with others, in public, and behind closed doors. An exhibition that shows how these themes, even today, are not publicly accepted or accessible for everyone.
Together with the MAS, theatre producer, writer and actor Dimitri Leue gathered stories from the collection and the city for the new exhibition 'Listen'. He wrote a compelling audio play that you can listen to in the exhibition. Tine Embrechts plays the role of Kameleonie.
The expo featured loans from the Royal Yacht Club of Belgium and private collectors. A detailed Antwerp roadsted view and ship models attributed to Robert Mols, were the eye-catchers from the MAS collection.
