Dimitri Leue & Tine Embrechts

Interview

Together with the MAS, theatre producer, writer and actor Dimitri Leue gathered stories from the collection and the city for the new exhibition 'Listen'. He wrote a compelling audio play that you can listen to in the exhibition. Tine Embrechts plays the role of Kameleonie.

Anybody home?

Looking for the sewer crocodile, listening to talking tableware, playing board games or drawing on the walls.... In the playful new family exhibition "Anybody home?" you will explore the MAS collection together with your (grand) children. You reflect on what a 'home' means. And one thing can already be revealed: it is different for everyone.

City Photographer

CLOSED - The exhibition ‘City Photographer’ brought Antwerp's many faces to the MAS Boulevard from 25 April 2017. Fifteen city photographers, chosen between 2014 and 2017, supplied a diverse range of photos. They created an unprecedented love letter to the city in all its manifestations.

What's on display?

The MAS tells the story of centuries of contact between Antwerp and the world. You'll experience part of the tale on every floor.

Exodus exhibition

1914. More than 1.5 million Belgians flee the violence of WWI. 2014. More than 45 million people worldwide have left their homes due to violence and oppression.

Painting by Van Bree on the list of Top Pieces

The painting 'Entry of Bonaparte, as First Consul, into Antwerp on 18th July 1803' by Mathieu Ignatius Van Bree was added to the list of Top Pieces by the Flemish Government. The large oil painting hangs in the Palace of Versailles, an identical work in a small format belongs to the MAS collection.
