Water-rAnt is assembling one hundred and fifteen authentic ships from Antwerp, the harbour and the Scheldt river's delta. You'll become acquainted with more than thirty maritime heritage and nautical organisations. Come aboard for cruises to the Dry Docks site, where an extensive programme awaits you. There's also all sorts of things to experience around the MAS!
Many museums in Belgium and abroad are eager to borrow works from the MAS. You may come across pieces from the MAS collection at exhibitions all over the world.
26-02 to 30-08-2027 The exhibition explores what it means to live together and meet one another. What it means to be allowed to truly be yourself—in your own body, in your relationships with others, in public, and behind closed doors. An exhibition that shows how these themes, even today, are not publicly accepted or accessible for everyone.
The MAS' largest and most impressive collection pieces can be seen on the Scheldt quays. And just in front of the MAS, you almost bump into the showpiece of our collection.
Japanese fashion also has a global impact. The exhibition showed how Japanese avant-garde fashion from the 1980s is still alive and well. Visitors were also exposed to Tokyo's colourful Cute Fashion.
For the first retrospective of the oeuvre of Michaelina Wautier (1604-1689), Rubenshuis and the MAS are joining forces. The exhibition - a world premiere - demonstrates the exceptional talent of an artist who became great at a time when female artists were very rare. Her work is so multifaceted and unique that it defies all art historical imagination.
