As part of ‘Antwerp Baroque 2018: Rubens as an inspiration’, MAS welcomed the photographer and artist Athos Burez. With 30 images and installations, he shared his own unique and contemporary view on different genres from the style period: still lifes, portraits, landscapes and interiors.

Water-rAnt 2019

Water-rAnt is assembling one hundred and fifteen authentic ships from Antwerp, the harbour and the Scheldt river's delta. You'll become acquainted with more than thirty maritime heritage and nautical organisations. Come aboard for cruises to the Dry Docks site, where an extensive programme awaits you. City Photographer

CLOSED - The exhibition ‘City Photographer’ brought Antwerp's many faces to the MAS Boulevard from 25 April 2017. Fifteen city photographers, chosen between 2014 and 2017, supplied a diverse range of photos. They created an unprecedented love letter to the city in all its manifestations.

The corner shop

CLOSED - "The corner shop" highlighted the colourful history of Antwerp's shops and shopkeepers in the MAS boulevard. MAS asked photographer Sanne De Wilde to find out more about the people who run local shops in the city today. The result was a colourful and diverse portrait series. Combined with old photos, the exhibition showed the human face behind the corner shops of the city since the Fifties.

Michaelina - Baroque's leading lady

MAS hosts Rubenshuis

For the first retrospective of the oeuvre of Michaelina Wautier (1604-1689), Rubenshuis and the MAS are joining forces. The exhibition - a world premiere  - demonstrates the exceptional talent of an artist who became great at a time when female artists were very rare. Her work is so multifaceted and unique that it defies all art historical imagination.
