It is with fond memories and the utmost respect that the MAS says goodbye to Jacob Sabakinu Kivilu, an esteemed bridge-builder between Congolese and Belgian universities and museums.

The story of the site

Along the frayed fault line between the city and port lies a raw and rusty area. For many Antwerp residents, this represents a blind spot on the map. However, this area oozes history linked to the once bustling in-city port.

A unique collection of vessels

The MAS manages the largest collection of historical vessels in the country. For years, it was displayed under the shelters next to Het Steen, but after a spectacular relocation operation, the vessels found a new home at the Dry Docks site.

We breathe new life into the historic Dry Docks site. STORMKOP is now home to young and less young adventurers.

Tijdreis

De MAS-collectie bestaat uit zo’n 500 000 objecten die samen het verhaal over Antwerpen en de wereld vertellen. De roltrappen in het MAS leiden de bezoekers niet alleen naar het panorama, maar laten ze hen een reis door de tijd maken met indrukwekkende foto’s van de collectie.
