Welcome family!
The Red Star Line Museum is the perfect destination for a family outing.
Children under 12 visit the museum for free and even grandma and granddad will receive a big discount on the admission fee.
Family suitcase
Request your ticket and your Suitcase full of objects from the desk and off you go! Every object in the suitcase tells a story. Follow your eyes, ears and nose through the galleries and find the hidden stories.
Suited for children between the ages of 7 and 12 years but younger brothers and sisters can also join in the fun and explore the museum.
The Red Star Line at home?
You can prepare your visit by downloading colouring pages.pdf here. We also have a range of fun gadgets for young sailors in the museum shop.
Additional facilities
The visitor’s space welcomes smaller children and is equipped with nappy-changing facilities.
You can take your stroller into the museum but in order to not cause any hindrance to the other visitors we would like you to consider alternatives such as a baby sling. You can safely store your stroller in the visitor’s space.
The De Loods museum café serves child-friendly snacks and drinks.
Evening family visit
In the autumn of 2013 the Red Star Line Museum will organise a family evening visit. Children between the ages of 9 and 12 years will welcomed as real VIPs, with a drink, an adventurous museum visit and the theatre performance “Dinska Bronska” by MartHa!tentatief.
