Égypte pluri’elles. Ancient Egypt in the Feminine
Cultural objects from Ancient Egypt in the MAS collection continue to be highly sought-after loans. A small selection of objects went to the Musée du Malgré-Tout for a temporary exhibition focusing on women in Ancient Egypt.
MAS is lending five objects depicting women, including a diorite statue and bronze goddesses Sekhmet and Neith. These objects are part of the Egyptian antiquities that the City of Antwerp purchased in 1879 from Eugène Allemant, a French interpreter and trader active in Egypt.
- The exhibition can be visited at the Musée du Malgré-Tout, Rue de la Gare, 5670 Treignes, from April 25 to November 13, 2026.
The Musée du Malgré-Tout (Province of Namur) was founded in 1984 with a focus on prehistory and antiquity. The permanent collection includes prehistoric and Gallo-Roman finds from the region around the Walloon village of Treignes.
