Enchanted by gold

Gold objects to Wereldmuseum in Leiden

For the exhibition “Enchanted by gold” (from December 21, 2024 at the Wereldmuseum in Leiden) the MAS, in collaboration with the Flemish Community, lent some eight gold objects, all from the Paul & Dora Janssen-Arts collection. The expo highlights the role of gold in different cultures around the world.

The display juxtaposes objects from different origins which offers a surprising and exciting narrative. Most come from the Leiden museum's own depots, supplemented by loans from the MAS, the Royal Collections in The Hague, the Rijksmuseum, the National Museum of Antiquities, the Dutch Open Air Museum and many others.
