MAS together with MARVI and Ukrainian artist Anton Shebetko is looking for members of Belgium's queer community with a migration background to participate in a sewing workshop on 17 and 18 October 2026.
Together with Anton, participants will create a collective textile artwork reflecting on (in)visibility of queerness and the struggle for recognition and safety beyond geographical boundaries. The artwork, the making process and participant’s personal testimonies will become part of 'Among Us', a new MAS exhibition opening on 27 February 2027.
'Among Us' reflects on what it means to be yourself, to belong, to be (in)visible, to meet one another through the stories and experiences of LGBTQI+. It is an invitation to look and to be seen. To pause, to recognize, and perhaps to understand something new - about others, and about yourself.
Who can apply?
We are looking for people who:
- are 18 years or older and currently live in Belgium.
- identifie as queer (LGBTQIA+)

- are happy to donate a few items of colorful clothing that will become part of the collective artwork.
- are willing to share their story in a filmed interview for the exhibition. They may choose to appear anonymously in the final video.
