Open dance floor

Are you a member of a dance club or would you like to dance with a group of friends at a unique location? You can, at the MAS, completely free of charge! You can book our open dance floor on the Boulevard.

Practical information

  • Who? Everyone is welcome: all ages, backgrounds, styles, and levels. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) 
  • When?  From Tuesday, 28 October, through Tuesday, 25 November 2025, daily from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Please note: The MAS is closed on Mondays.)
  • Where? A 6 x 8 meter dance floor will be set up on the Boulevard on the 1st floor.
  • Music? A sound system with Bluetooth is available.
  • Reservations? You can book a 2-hour time slot via the registration link or QR code. (available soon)

Clear agreements:

  • Do not use music with coarse language, sexually explicit or discriminatory lyrics.
  • Keep the volume at a comfortable level.
  • Take care of our dance floor: no skates, skateboards or heels.
  • Food or soft drinks are not allowed on the dance floor.
  • Water bottles are allowed and can be refilled.
  • There is a cloakroom for coats and small items.
  • Lockers are available for large bags.
  • Toilets are located on the ground floor and first floor. These toilets are gender-neutral and accessible to everyone. 
  • Stay safe: in case of a fire alarm, follow the instructions of the staff and leave the building immediately.

Universal Tongue

    Saturday 25 October 2025 until Sunday 4 January 2026 from 10:00 to 17:00

Anouk Kruithof shows that dance is a universal language in different (sub)cultures. Walk through a rousing video installation featuring some 1,000 dance styles from around the world. Immerse yourself in a language we all know in this four-hour film.

Nocturnes

This fall, the MAS will be dancing! During four dance nocturnes, Antwerp dance communities ranging from Bollywood dance, tango, pole dancing to dabke and Gregorian dance will provide a program full of workshops, performances, and talks.
