Belgica's polar pioneers
    Friday 21 June 2024 until Sunday 3 November 2024 from 10:00 to 17:00

Come and meet the expedition members of the Belgica. Some 125 years ago, they set off from Antwerp to the last blind spot on the world map: Antarctica. The expedition got stuck in the polar ice and made history as a result. Learn how the men managed to survive, who followed in their footsteps, and what Antarctica is like today.

A glimpse of the collection

FREE ENTRANCE | From 25 October 2024

The MAS collection numbers almost 600,000 pieces. Part of it can be admired in the exhibitions, the rest is carefully stored in various depots. In the free accessible Visible Storage, you can take a peek behind the scenes. Varied and surprising partial presentations provide a constantly changing view of the collection. 

Stargazing on the roof

    Thursday 31 October 2024 from 21:00 to 23:00

On Thursday evening, during school holidays, you can come and gaze at the stars for free on the roof of the MAS. Observatory Urania will provide a telescope. Weather permitting ...
