Alors on danse!

Dance organs are ingenious automatons that make people dance. They are a typically Belgian phenomenon. From 1900 they were extremely popular in Antwerp and Brussels. In the exhibition Celebration! the tradition of dance matinees is resumed.

In 2007 the Flemish Community bought a large collection of dance organs. The city of Antwerp also bought an icon: the Mortier organ.

On Tuesdays and Sundays, the MAS pulls the plug in and starts the organs. Come and take a look behind the scenes, come listen or take a step on the dance floor. Requests always welcome!
